My farewell gift from Janise

My first and prolly the only one....

She's very sweet. From the day my departure was announced, she sms me of her gratitude of my advice and guidance, her sadness of my departure, and how the rest of the team reacted.

The relationship built up over the years, the many ups and downs, she is with me. Very glad to have such a good subordinate. A leader is nothing without her/his team's help. Im grateful to them, regardless of whatever they have done. Besides, they have grown a lot, be it enough to match the expectations.

I realised that my departure, will allow more opportunities for others to climb up the corporate ladder. Im glad and hope for the best for the team. I believe they can strive and survive, with hard work and good attitude.

Thanks Janise. Heartfelt thanks

Day at grandma place

Since grandpa passed away, this is my second visit. The atmosphere is still the same. As noisy with the kids, the familiar faces, the excitement of seeing Mary Rose, Uncle Mike and Aunt Margaret again.

We went to Lot 1 as usual, lunch at Long John. Order taking is still as tough, with the aunties being fickle. Sigh. Still the same pattern.

We went around, with Mary sticking to me like a leech. She's lonely, i can feel. Being the only child, and the other kids are rather big to offer company.

I company her everywhere, buy her 'adult' shoe and hang around.

All in all, end day, good day spend with the family.

Last day at work

Tomorrow is my last day of work in Singapore office.

At first, i thought i will feel very sad, or even have mixed feelings. But i guess, the breaking of the news is much more challenging as i fear to see the team's reaction.

Official announcement has been done. All is ready to go. I will just need to close the month's invoices and off i go. To another office. Another role.

Im starting all over again. Ready for the challenge? Im not sure. But im at the point of no return. I'll make it work.

Goodbye to my comfortable environment. Im ready for the new challenge.

My new image

well, went for a haircut on my birthday. My fringe was cut short, till above my eyebrows, something i've not done for a VERY long time. COs its cumbersome when it gets long so i keep it over my eyes, in order not to block my eye sight in a way. In addition, i went ahead to perm my hair...where the bottom parts goes wavy.....

A lot of mixed reactions and gets me quite irritated at times BUT i've learnt a bit of the bochup attitude.

Comment 1
"Luckily i saw you before you perm. " Kns. That francis huh....

Comment 2
"You really look older"

Comment 3
"put down your hair lah, nice wat"

Comment 4
"your hair looks like broom leh..very badly done. I would scold your hairdresser. Spoilt your hair"

and many more.

Well, mum couldnt recognise me, sis gave a little smile, some colleagues couldnt recognise me and too many reactions.

My perspective? I think its nice, but i prefer my old hair. This hair is higher maintanence, more comments, more cumbersome. But i guess, its a good time to have a new image. Something different mah...

Be it others like it or not, as long im fine with it, they just gotta learn to accept lor. too bad. Take it or leave it

Well being day at b's place

B and fern organised a well being day at b's place. They had yoga classes, time to share their library of books, body rolling session and not forgetting lunch.

We did yoga together at b's porch...rather hot, but with a little fan to stimulate better ventilation. B also had a table with his display of books and the many crystals he have gotten.

Fern started by guiding us on the yoga steps, a little comical the way she brought it across to us, but definitely enjoyable. B's mum also gave his some insight to her version of sun salutation.

Lunch was yummy! we had b's homecooked pasta with tomatoes and mushrooms. The pasta really tasted nice even without the gravy. Was complimenting b's cooking and telling him that he could set up a stall selling pasta!

We then had sessions of 'sleeping', body rolling and some sharing session on yoga...

With the few of us left, we decided to take a walk down to east coast parkway. B's house was near and ECP is prolly 5mins away. We strolled to ECP as B was sharing with me how he had found his partner. It didnt occur to me that he will share with me, but i was glad for him. Its always nice to hear of your good frens 'settled' down with someone who contributed to their life though there's was a YY relationship.

I held his arm as we strolled and the feeling felt good. Someone to lean on, with no commitments and comfort. I hope for my own support too, someday, sometime.

We sat by the breakwaters and listen to the waves break into the stones and enjoy the sea breeze. I seem to forget when was my last time sitting by the breakwater, enjoying the sea breeze, the company and the time. Enjoyable.

Then we decided to have dinner, prata! The only sinful meal of the day..hehe...actually not the only sinful meal....they celebrated my bday with a choco cake that is delicious...heavenly...it came as a surprise...totally unexpected...nice...

All in all, it is a day well spent. Good company, good workout and quality time spent.

Zhiyong's wedding

Had the wedding at Marina Mandarin. Never know zhiyong was such a good sport when it comes to the games. We got to knew him better.....definitely a funny guy.....

It was really a night to gather again. We had 1 and a half tables. Juraime was sitted next to me and i am amazed by the muslim spread. Nice....we were wondering if we should declare that we wana try muslim food at the next wedding as it really looks nice!

As usual, when the couple is to make a little speech, its the guy who does it. Hmm. Dun the gals have something to say? to say to their parents? Was talking to Lucy the other day that theirs are the only one where the bride makes a speech as well. Very sincere and touching. Lucy feels the bride should make a speech as well as that is the only chance where you can tell your parents how grateful you are to them without feeling awkward. I dun think i have a problem with talking on my wedding day, i even think i will steal my future partner's limelight! haha.....(think sis did make a speech on hers...did she?)
