We were at Sis's place having her house warming. Both sides of our family were there. Voices of aunties and uncles, children, toddlers were everywhere. I vaguely remember i was sitted beside Uncle Jerome who happens to be on the phone and trying to calm someone down and asking he/she to call the ambulance. Once the call is done, he said, "Lucy called to say Mum just fell at home and i've called an ambulance." Shocked, all started to exit. Bags were grabbed, children were gathered and off they go. I have the same feeling how the aunties and uncles behaved when grandpa passed away. Fingers crossed.
The Lee family took their bags and got ready to leave. I asked questions, and got not much replies. I said, "do we want to wait a while and go directly to the hospital that the ambulance is bring popo?" Sis agreed. So Mandy and me let all the rest rush to whereever they are going, and we took a bus to the hospital when Jeannette called to inform the destination the ambulance was bringing popo to.
By the time we reach, all the rest of the uncle and aunties were at the hospital. The kids were sent back to popo's house to wait. We waited at the A & E. An hour passed, another too. By 6pm, popo is ready to be warded after all the examination.
We visited her at the ward. She seems alright. Conscious and sitting at the bed, we talked to her. She seems alright but blur. Probably shocked.
Auntie Lucy who came with popo in the ambulance explained how she discover popo. She is brave. Definitely. The auntie lucy that i know, dreads coming to hospital. She has overcomed her fear. And at a point when she was toking to jean and pam, they cried. Must have been reminded of Uncle Larry's death.
By night, the doctor explained that popo's fall is prolly due to trauma in her ear. It caused her to be imbalance and fall. She was bleeding from her ear. A CT scan shown a hairline crack in her skull. She was due for future checks.
The fall has brought fear once again to the family. Grandpa passed away in May only. Dun wish for another repetition soo soon.
Popo is now back home. But not her usual lively, talkative self. All are worried. But other than showering her with love and concern, it seems nothing more we could do.
God bless.
