A day at Haw Par Villa

went to Haw Par Villa today for a Seminar conducted by one of the airlines. Felt weird to have a seminar to be conducted there as my memories of Haw Par Villa was more of a Chinese historical tour, a place filled with statues and myths but never a seminar place. Nevertheless, we went there on a bus, just like those school days where we went for an excursion.

The place still looks the same as i've remembered. The long walkway in, the statues, the same entrance...

The main seminar was held at Hua Song Museum in a little audio visual room.

We had a little guided tour about this museum, had a look at Mr Lee's village house, the condition of the ship that coolies that squeezed in, in search for better jobs and a graphical representation of how the Manchus had to cut their queues etc. History has always been an interesting subject but not one that i'm able to get the facts into my head, sad to say......

This seminar had been an interesting one simply because of the following reasons
  1. It was held at Haw Par Villa
  2. The guided tour refreshed our memories of history
  3. The food was nice. (trust me. it is special. Food was served by restaurant Made in China)
  4. I've gain more knowledge on airline's products. (although this is the main reason i'm at Haw Par, it's the least interesting)

I would certainly hope to pay another visit to Haw Par Villa. It's always interesting to visit places that bring back memories.
