the above is a phrase that we used to explain that spilled milk is no use crying over as it is already spilled and can't be drank or use anymore......as good as telling one that once some things have happened, there's no point crying....
Was toking to sis the other day and she was commenting that she can really understand the feeling one gets when the milk is spilled. especially when the one who spilled the milk is a mother herself who have spent effort, time and for some, experience pain for expressing their milk for their loved little one...the milk expressed out is very precious to the breastfeeding mother, especially if milk is scarce and much effort is spent.
It's really rather funny to hear that someone understand exactly how it feels like for a phrase soo commonly known to us, especially literally.
Just like when i used to disturb my fren to "long pia" (slam into the wall in hokkien). My friend on one occasion, did that literally to vent his anger.
Comparing the two scenarios, the latter is nuts....
