My New Year 2007 day - V tea Room

Was supposed to go shopping with Sis and she was saying that she is meeting Mandy, an ex-colleague for lunch at the Tea Room at Esplanade and invited me to join them....

Was adamant about the idea at first but was like, "ok, i'll go"

The Tea Room? hmmm what exactly is this place like and what does it sell? was filled with curiosity when i was approaching this destination.
V Tea Room where its V stands for Victorian, is like an English place where the waitresses were dressed in victorian tops and A -line skirt....this place was once featured on television i remembered....their decor was very victorian liked and they have this bar which displays little cakes for the in house guest to order

Had some difficulty trying to order food as the food was not really to my taste but still managed to order a ham loft....it came with ham on top of something like bread but had rice in it and mushroom sauce over it....it's ok but too much of it is a bit gelat...

Sis had a salmon omelette which looks very nice and taseted nice as well....it looks rather big for a single person portion but i guess, a hungry mum with high metabolism rate is highly up for this challenge

There aren't a lot of main dishes to order as this place seems more of a tea place as the name of the place implies.....i must comment that this place has very nice decor, ambience that makes you feel like a tai tai.....

We ordered one of the signature dish, the Whisky Mud Cake.....that is fabulous.....filled with melted chocolate and whisky poured over the cake, it was riched and yummy....definitely a must try.....only thing is that it is very rich and most probably 2 or 3 to share would be better....

Well, after hours of tai tai feeling.....(which i thought that maybe im still not up to this kinda life....) we went shopping...(Yeepe!!!)
I must agree with sis that at times, we need to experience different things to expose ourselves and widen our knowledge....however, such indulges will be good for once or twice sessions only...as its not my cup of tea.....
Last but not least, this place has very nice cookies. try the berry flavour in the lite cookies range......sweet but not too sweet for the tooth....and they have savoury flavours of hae bee hiam and ikan beelis flavours....hehe.....exotic huh....really taste like their names.....a refreshing gift for chinese new year.....
